ABOUT JAY

Meet Jay Ritch, a landscape travel photographer hailing from a small coastal town in New England. Growing up, Jay was drawn to the arts and dreamt of becoming a cartoonist for Disney. In addition to being selected for his school's Gifted Arts program, Jay also explored various art mediums under the guidance of a tutor.

As Jay ventured off to college in New York City, he realized that his drawing abilities might not be enough to land him a job at Disney. However, it was at this time that Jay discovered Adobe Photoshop, which soon became his new creative outlet. Jay immersed himself in online tutorials and blog posts, attempting to master the art of digital design. Before long, Jay's designs were being handed out around New York City on promotional nightclub flyers.

After graduating college, Jay started a web design company where he specialized in front-end user design. His unique designs helped drive sales. A few years later, Jay transitioned into a new profession, which took him away from his creative pursuits. Jay's work-related travels brought him to well-known, exotic, and historic places, where he captured photos on his cell phone that garnered praise from friends and family.

Encouraged to explore photography, Jay found it a natural progression from his graphic design days, reigniting his creative spark. Often inspired by magical moments he remembers fondly from childhood stories and movies, Jay strives to capture or create enchanting images that resonate with viewers.

In his free time, Jay enjoys traveling, hiking, playing soccer, and practicing jiu-jitsu. Today, he shares his love for photography with the world, inviting you to join him on his visual journey as he uncovers the beauty hidden in everyday scenes.
